Hiring the right candidate for the right role at the right time has become infinitely more challenging. Meanwhile, changing attitudes toward work means that employers have to be more strategic about how they attract and retain talent. The organizations that stand out from the pack are the ones who bide their time and strategize behind the scenes long before the actual hiring begins.

How do you ensure a good cadence and optimal process?

Recruitment processes need accountability and clear division of responsibilities to function properly. By setting Service Level Agreements (SLA), supported by Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RACI) or similar frameworks, allows for quick identification of bottle necks in the recruitment process.

By implementing a standard for how recruitment processes are managed, they become predictable and allow for identification of what KPIs are lagging behind and the reason for it.

Implement Structure to Bring Clarity

A recruitment process generally fulfills the commonly accepted definition of a “Project”, there is a clear idea of what needs to be done, the time interval for completion and a definition of done.

Managing the expectations of all relevant parties during a recruitment process could be overwhelming, especially if they are not mapped in a proper way. Several parallel processes with alternating time-scopes is adding an additional layer of complexity.

Successful control means that you know what and how to keep track of the moving parts of the recruitment process in order to reach effects such as efficient processes, low cost and hiring the right person at the right time.

Project and/or Process Management

Managing expectations from internal and external stakeholders, keeping turnarounds within schedule, and making sure that the cadence of the processes is moving forward. While internally making sure that the deliverables are of the highest quality and within the timeline that’s expected are also key parts of any Talent Acquisition function and not something that’s easily done.

Using a clear structure and tool sets available this can be optimized for any and all organizations in a much more efficient manner.
